Scope of Works:

  • Abatement works for all hazardous building material on site to enable demolition
  • Remove friable asbestos material on site which included:
    • Pipe lagging
  • Remove non-friable asbestos material on site which included:
    • AC roof and walls (over 20,000sqm)
    • Vinyl floor tiles
  • Removal of diatomaceous earth under asbestos conditions that were found above the kilns
  • Removal and disposal of asbestos insulation lagging to boilers, turbines and kilometres of associated pipes
  • Removal of over 20,000m2 of AC Wall and Roof Sheets
  • Due to the location and public sensitivity to the works, weekly consultation and meetings were held throughout the duration of the project

Gold Coast Hospital

The Gold Coast Hospital was the third largest hospital in Queensland and was a major teaching and referral hospital. The hospital would admit over 60,000 patients annually.

 

Scope of Works:

  • Remove all asbestos containing materials in the former buildings in preparation to it’s demolition
  • Remove friable asbestos material on site which included:
    • Pipe lagging
    • Grinding of adhesive
  • Remove non-friable asbestos material on site which included:
    • Bituminous membrane
    • AC Sheet
    • Vinyl floor tiles

Government Building

Location: Queensland

Client: Dickinson Construction

Duration: 2 Months

Year: 2015

 

This Government Building is located on the South Bank precinct of Brisbane, Queensland.

 

Scope of Works:

  • Decontaminate out over 100 skylights
  • Co-ordinate the replacement of the new skylights.
  • The ambient temperature in the building had to be maintained at all times during this process

Lincoln Mills Coburg

Location: Victoria

When first built, the Lincoln Mills were on the outskirts of Melbourne's was soon declared industrial zone of the Coburg Council, which promoted the establishment of industry in the area. Gaffney Street became the centre of Coburg's textile industry in the interwar years.

 

Scope of Works:

  • The complex also comprises a number of single storey red brick factories with corrugated asbestos saw tooth roofs with opaque glass or vented skylights.
  • Abatement works for all hazardous building material on site to enable demolition
  • Remove friable asbestos material on site which included:
    • Pipe lagging
    • Boiler Insulation
  • Remove non-friable asbestos material on site which included:
    • AC roof and walls (over 15,000sqm)
    • Vinyl floor tiles

Liverpool City Council

The Liverpool City Council is a local government area located to the South-West of Sydney. The Liverpool central business district has become the major commercial centre of south-west Sydney, as it includes many shopping centres and high-rise office buildings

 

Scope of Works:

  • Working with Liverpool City Council to address illegally dumped asbestos waste.

Sydney Olympic Park- Newington Armory

Newington Armory reflects over 100 Years of naval occupation and use, even earlier then that this area was part of the 1807 colonial land grant to the pioneering Blaxland Family.

Villawood Warehouse - 3 Birmingham Avenue – Villawood

Wharf Street, Kangaroo Point

  • Completely remove all internal asbestos cement sheet to the property
  • Completely remove all external asbestos cement sheet (that had a rendered finish) to the property

Wynyard Station Upgrade

Transport for NSW is upgrading Wynyard Station. This upgrade will provide a lighter, brighter, cleaner station and will increase capacity which will allow customers easier access in and around the station and improve the overall customer experience.

Gladstone Aluminium Refinery:

Queensland Alumina Limited is one of the world’s largest alumina refineries. It is situated at Gladstone, Queensland where it has been operating since 1967. In that time its production capacity has increase from 600,000 tonnes per year to 3.96 million tonnes per year.

Spencer Street Power Station:

Spencer Street Power Station was a Victorian era coal fired power station, which operated on Spencer Street in central Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Opened in 1892, it was closed in 1982, and in 2006 demolition commenced.

 

Scope of Works:

  • Conducting a pre-clean/decontamination of the condemned power station
  • Building enclosures for 4 boilers over 20m in height

Wallerawang Power Station Cooling Tower 8

Location: New South Wales

Scope of Works:

  • Deployed over 80 full-time asbestos removalist on-site
  • Remove all the asbestos packs inside the cooling tower.
  • Custom designed walk ways for access/egress with in the cooling tower
  • Assembled and installed all the new packs inside the cooling tower.

Residential

Since 1921, Building products containing asbestos was widely used in the Australian building industry due to its flexibility, resistance properties too many elements (including heat and rot) and was cheap to manufacture.
