| What is asbestos? Asbestos is a naturally occurring silicate mineral that is strong, durable and fire resistant. In the past, uses for asbestos have ranged from building insulation to vehicle brake linings. Millions of tonnes of asbestos have been used in industrial sites, schools, shipyards, homes and commercial buildings throughout Australasia . Unfortunately exposure to asbestos fibres and dust, through inhalation, can cause a variety of health problems ranging from pleural plaque of the lungs to severe diseases such as asbestosis and mesothelioma. Australia has the highest recorded rate of mesothelioma with 7,500 cases by 2003. The number of cases is expected to rise to 18,000 by 2020. For every case of mesothelioma there are two more cases of fatal asbestos-related lung diseases, meaning there will be a total of 58,000 lung diseases caused by asbestos by 2020. |

PASSIVE DEMOLITION
Passive demolition is often required to gain access to the asbestos that is earmarked for removal. It is vital that this passive demolition is conducted in a careful and controlled manner to minimise any disturbance to the potentially hazardous asbestos. ATS can conduct passive demolition under normal and asbestos conditions on domestic and commercial sites.
INSULATION
ATS has the knowledge and experience in installing insulation to the client's specification for both commercial and residential purposes. Often with any insulation removal, whether it's hazardous (asbestos) or just deteriorated insulation that is removed from the premises, it often has to be replaced/re-insulated with new material (cellulose fibre, sheep wool, polyester, glasswool and rockwool etc). ATS insulation services include the

WASTE TRANSPORT
ATS manages its own fleet of EPA-licensed transport vehicles for general and prescribed waste. With access to a number of skip bins ranging from 6m 3 to 30m 3 , ATS is able to provide safe and efficient waste transport services for construction, industrial, hospital, shopping centre and residential sites.
